We are a game development community at UW Parkside, welcome to our website.

  Plans moving forward.

The buzz is all about our Halo 3 tournament on the 15th of February.  I believe we have enough response to it to meet our goals.  If you are interested check out the Facebook group:

Halo 3 Tournament

All the details are there.  On other news we have six dates picked out for our speakers.

Feb 22
Mar 3
Mar12
Apr 7
Apr 19
Apr 30

This is 50% going down currently.  Far better than I had previously thought, but its all on IGDA Madison to get there end together.  I have hope.  It is goign to be a step in the right direction for Parkside, for the GDU, for the Midwest in general.  More on that later!

  Speakers Inbound

ConCrete writes:
Due to a new contact within IGDA Madison we have reestablished our bid for industry professionals to come speak here at Parkside.  We will be deciding the dates that are best for the GDU to receive these speakers at our meeting on January 28th at noon in Molinaro 109.  All are welcome and encouraged to come.  This is a big step for the GDU, Parkside, and game development in the Midwest.  More information on the specific dates, subjects and the speakers themselves when that information becomes available.

  The future of GDU

ConCrete writes:
After speaking to Eric Francksen at the IGDA meeting in Madison this Tuesday we are planning on having 4 speakers a year come to Parkside and speak about any range of game development topics.  These events will be open to the public and I encourage any and all to attend, dates, times, locations, and subjects of these speakers are all yet to be solidified but I promise that it is in the works.  Yay! for GDU and Parkside!

A new year for a New GDU

ConCrete writes:
We are back underway with a new structure, new members, and new destinations.  We have basically the same executive board as last year and will be moving into our second year within a few months.  We attend regular IGDA meetings in both Madison and Chicago.  Our goal as a club is to equip our members with a team based learning platform that harbors individual and team based growth.  And also to better equip them to enter the digital games industry.

Our meetings are in Molinaro 109 at 12:30 on Mondays.  All are encouraged to attend.
